A few months back three- four students came to my office and asked me to guide them to do a project on corruption in India,Initially I was wondering that why children of age 13-14 years were taking this project and was it the right age for the them to get exposed to such a topic.Anyway we discussed and they modified the topic and did the project in which corruption was one the issues faced by our country in addition to many other important issues. I am not very sure whether I was right in convincing them to change the topic of their project. But recent media reports have proved that they are really exposed to certain evils in the society which affect them at a very early age.When they should be surrounded by positive happenings around them they read and watch one or the other episode of corruption(and other wrong happenings shown repeatedly) which affects their mind negatively.These  issues are discussed on news channels almost twenty fo...

Dear friends, Yesterday I met a young couple who got married recently and now moving out to a place away from their parents.This made me to think that, will they have difficulty  in  starting a new life of their own without anyone`s support from the family? Also after few years when they will  plan of their  family, will they be  mature enough for taking care of their kid/kids. This forced  me to further think about the scenario of problems faced by today`s kids and their parents. I would like to focus on the stressful life of parents in the present scenario. We all know it well  that during this period (Dec-Feb.) every year, many young parents anxiously wait for their child`s admission in a `Good` school. Dear friends, From the time of independence we have been working towards making our country better place not only for our people but also for all on this planet.The thrust has been on economic,scientific and industrial growth. Education and agriculture did get attention of our policy makers but I think more could have been done in that direction.All will agree that education is the key to the sustained growth of a nation and agriculture is the key sector to provide healthy food to the citizens. Many attempts were made in the past to make our education system child friendly which improves the learning without adding  stress.Here I am talking about the school education which should be in tune with nation`s requirement. Dear all, I wish you and all the children a happy and prosperous year 2011. May we all work for the betterment of every human being and look after wonderful gift of God in the form of children. Let me share with you  my personal experience of the last week. A group of about 33 teachers went to visit a few places like Goa and Mumbai.The idea was to get together and understand each other in a better way because when you you are at your  work  place, profession becomes more important which at times acts as barrier  to personal life. I happened to read the hindi poem by great poet Sh.Gopal Das Neeraj Ji titled "Maa mat ho naraaz....." in which a daughter is explaining to the mother the reasons of her doing certain things for which she is unhappy. The complete poem is so good that you can keep  reading it again and again but  few lines say a lot.The lines are :- " Jo kuch huva use bisra de, Santee(stick) faik(throw) baal sahala de, Teri mamata bhi naa mili to jaane fir kya kare gujariya! We all know that  life is a cycle and everyone has to pass through  and face many challenges and move on. I do not remember many things of my childhood so clearly but I am sure that environment I was exposed to in my early years have tremendous impact on my attitude and thinking towards life.As a child we may not react and people around may consider us ignorant but I think that the children imbibe and receive maximum up to the age of 10-11 years.As the child receives more and reacts less he/ she is mistaken of not understanding things or happenings around him/her. The child becomes what he experiences during the years I have mentioned above and it is very important for us as parents and teachers that we provide our children best of the possible environment. Also I would like this to be dedicated to my mother, my grandfather, my wife Sangeeta , my sons Vishal and Vaibhav and all my teachers and students from whom I have learned so many things and I am proud of that. There is a saying that nobody can teach others but at the same time this  is also equally true that everybody can learn.and if it is so than the people around you are of paramount importance as you  learn the most from them.
